Well @SubSonar - I was thinking about you today as I was speaking with Danny over at Tish and asked him about the buckling issue. I was trying to figure out what he would do different than the outlined Tiffin document. I am curious if Le Mesa added the angle iron to the inside of the unit against the side wall and floor. I am also curious as if they went through the outrigger and up.
Looking under the rear of the RV all I can see is two brackets that La Mesa installed between the rear end and the floor and both are broken. Also I cannot determine if any angle iron was installed to the inside of the unit. The angle iron that can be seen appears to be OEM installed.
Thanks for thinking of us. I am probably going to make a trip to Tish this spring. I need to call them for a date. Can you recommend a RV Campground there?
If youâre going to Tish they have hookups on site
That is one of the great things about Tish - full hookups onsite and while they work on your rig if it needs to stay in the bay overnight they do have water and power in the bay. Tish was one of the major reasons we purchased a Vanleigh knowing that we wouldnt have to work with a dealer for repairs and planned on doing an annual stop there.
Danny had said that he changed up his procedure for the buckling from what was historically done at Tiffin however after hearing his process compared to the outlined procedure they seemed very similar. I am betting Le Mesa may have missed a few steps.
Good luck - those guys at Tish will get you corrected. They do some great work over there.
Thanks to Ryan and Jon. I looked at a google maps view of the area but didnât realize they were hookup spots. This is a really good customer service to allow you to hookup while waiting. Thanks again.
SubSonar, have you made it back to Tish yet? I am very interested in the results. I have a 2022 370GB, my rear panels look just like yours. My last trip across Interstate 10 was a bit rough to say the least.
LynnF, I have an appointment next Tuesday for this problem. I will comment here. Ourâs started out last summer with a trip to Alaska and driving the Alaska Highway washboard/ice heaves.
Good luck next Tuesday - look forward to hearing the results.
I know Iâm a little late posting but weâve been busy. Our trip to Tish and seeing Danny at Tish RV Repair was great. I canât say enough about the customer service and willingness to assist and answer questions. Sorry I canât remember the guys that worked on our Vilano but they were both outstanding. They not only fixed the buckling problem but installed new flooring in our kitchen/living room area. When they went to remove the center island to do the flooring the top came off the island, repaired. They also found that all the connections under the island were loose from road vibration. The area above the refrigerator was not put in correctly to keep the fridge from bouncing around, repaired. They inspected out roof and found gaps in the seals on the front cap, repaired. We were forever having to slam our entry door to get it to close, one look and they noticed it was warped, two blocks of wood and repaired, shuts great and doesnât need to be slammed. I thank
Danny and his guys for a great experence. Danny also recommended an AirBnB to us while they were replacing the floor and the folks were great and friendly. Again I cannot say enough about the service and friendship found at Tish RV Repair with Danny and his team.
Now, while we were in Charleston, visiting our son, our Samsung refrigerator quit running. We had it checked out by a tech who changed out both circuit cards but no changes. The diagnosis is that the compressor has gone out. So we drove from Charleston to Tucson using a cooler in the basement for refrigeration. Can someone recommend a good replacement fridge, and not a Samsung. All reviews on Samsung are PSSSSSSSSSSSSST!!
Thanks to all for recommending Danny and his crew at Tish.
I donât have a fridge recommendation but I am glad those guys at Tish got you taken care of. That two blocks of wood in the door is magical. I didnât even realize how rough our door had been and Stacey grabbed the wood and I could close with one finger. Very smooth.
Those guys are awesome and have been extremely helpful to me in my visits. Even without a Vanleigh I would go to them for the rough stuff. Good luck on your fridge!
Great to hear about your experience at Tish, I will be there in August. About your other issue, our Vilano had, yes past tense had a LG fridge. The compressor went out a couple of years ago, we had it repaired it died again over the weekend. I just finished installing a Whirlpool. I dont know if itâs better but I havenât heard anything good about LG or Samsung. The Whirlpoolâs maiden voyage will be the trip to Tishomingo.
Replaced fridge with a GE from Home Depot. They delivered straight to RV service center here in Tucson and they installed after taking out dining window to get fridges out and in. No trips planned in near future but I just went out and it was running, nice and cold, made ice (which I threw out as recommended by tech). Danny at Tish responded that they replaced a fridge a while back with a LG ordered thru Home Depot.
I canât say enough about the customer service and friendly attitude at Tish with Danny and his guys. Great team. If I need them again I wonât hesitate to travel the 1600 miles to their shop.
Canât agree more. We are in Idaho and have made the trek to Danny several times and will do it again shortly.
Well, the Whirlpool made it to Tish with no issues. I think that was pretty amazing after driving through Mephis. I am not sure if I should stop at every overpass, lock the truck in low 4 wd and crawl over their jumps or just hit them at 50 and focus on the landings.
You need to go to the Affinity RV Group out of Goshen Indiana for a repair⌠They can fix your fridge with a better cooling unit other than the Samsung⌠just my .02 James B⌠Duluth, MN.
Rear side panel buckling repaired, 300 miles to go and the repair so far is working great. We did give it a 3000 mile test drive. Dannyâs group did a great job, I believe it was Stacey who worked on our trailer, they have a great system doing repairs.
Now the rest of the story. Somewhere between Kansas City Missouri and Limon Colorado I lost a outside disc brake pad on my rear axle. Itâs just gone, my caliper on the outside became the outside pad. I am working with morryde on that.
To add more insult to injury, when un-hooking the trailer, it looked like the trailer was going up with the jacks but the pin box was not rising. I found some cracks around the screws that hold the panel around the pin box and down the front of the trailer. I am not ready for another trip to Mississippi. Time to read up on those frame flex issues.
Must have lost it after crossing the border into Colorado. Donât get me started on why Colorado has the worst roads in the country.
Tishomingo did a great job on our frame flex repair. It was done about a year ago, and itâs held up ever since over lots of rough Colorado roads.
As a Colorado resident, I agree 100% on your assessment on the state of the roads in this state. When retuning from an out of state trip, we always know once weâve gotten back into Colorado as it becomes like driving across a cornfield at a 90° angle. LOL
Also pleased with the repairs for wall separation Tishomingo performed as theyâve stood up to the Colorado roads. The MORryde IS has also helped survive these roads too.
I have our 2018 320 GK Vilano being finished up at Affinity RV Group in Goshen as I write this⌠I also paid them to check all of the sidewall attachment bolts, etc⌠Insurance covered the frame flex as I has reported a qualifying event⌠(12K) to repair⌠The frame flex also affected the slide in the front bedroom and the swin-tech system was replacedâŚ
