Trip Report with weights and mileage

Took the Vilano 370GB to Charleston, SC for a 1 week stay at Lake Aire Campground (between Charleston and Hollywood, SC) for our first long trip pulling with our 2023 diesel Chevy 3500 DRW 4WD CC truck. Just my wife, dog and myself. The truck got 9.1 mpg at 68MPH on the interstate going to Charleston (265 miles). On the way back we kept to the back roads and got 8.8 mpg due to more stops/starts and gaining in elevation but speeds were 55 mph most of the way.

I did weigh the truck/RV combination at a CAT scale and have attached pictures of the rig and weigh bill. All CAT weights said the truck could handle the weight but I didn’t have as much margin as I expected but the RV has almost all options that Vanleigh offered on that model.

If you ever want to visit Charleston in your RV, please consider Lake Aire Campground. They are really nice, have a great setup for a variety of camper styles and are reasonably priced (at least in my opinion). We did opt for the pull thru full concrete pad 50 amp service so paid the highest rate and it was about $66 a night before taxes but after a discount for AAA (a littler over $500 for the week but a lot less expensive and more comfortable than a hotel for the week).

That’s pretty decent mileage. We usually average about 8-9 with our F450 and 39FBB, sometimes a bit lower when we’re in the mountains here in the west.

Our weights are similar but a bit heavier (27500 Gross) since we also added most of the options Vanleigh offered.

Nice looking campground too with a decent per night price.
