Slider hitch required?
I am thinking about trading in my long bed for a megacab. Is a slider required and is anyone using a B&W Slider? Does it provide the clearance needed?
ChuckT, I have a mega cab dually, I think it’s a 6’4" bed, puck mount hitch, curt 25k. I do not have a slider and I have not had any issues with the trailer hitting the cab. I know it can hit, you can’t jack knife the trailer. I have not had any issues that way. I once had a slider on a short bed truck 20 years ago. I attempted to use it once and I practically had to un hitch the trailer to get it to slide back. I am sure they are much better now. Something else you might want to look at is the pin box to tailgate space when the hitch is slid back.
