Tiffin Mega Rally June 2025

Curious if anyone on here might be going to the Tiffin mega rally next June in Rock Springs, WY. We went to the 50th Anniversary Tiffin/Vanleigh rally in 2022 at the same location.

Cost has gone up quite bit since it will cost between $800-1000 depending on your arrival date.

Weโ€™re still debating on attending.

Hello Stuart,

Havenโ€™t really post here a lot , but follow the site. My wife and I are looking at attending this Rally. We submitted a lottery request on Friday morning and received an acceptance reply Friday afternoon.

We are currently mulling (discussing) the trip over as our 2nd long trip of the year. Last years 2nd trip was not the best experience as we went to Florida the end of September. We spent a week at Fort Wilderness and were going to spend
3 weeks at the Orlando TT, weather was miserable, hot and humid, and ran into 2 hurricanes. We rode out Helene with some 50 mph winds and some light rain showers, but bailed with Milton. That storm ran right over the TT location.

It would be nice to be there with other Vanleigh owners. You mentioned that you were there for the last rally, were there other Vanleigh owners there?

We have a 22 42 RDB.

Bob

Hi Bob,

Thatโ€™s quite the ordeal having to deal with two hurricanes! No chance of hurricanes in Wyoming.

At the 50th Anniversary rally I think there were somewhere around 600 coaches including about 50 Vanleigh fifth wheels. Not as many as we had seen at previous rallies but still a good turnout I thought.

Group photo of some of the Vanleigh owners at the 50th Anniversary rally

We enjoyed the time at the rally and meeting other Vanleigh owners. If you attend be sure to bring extra long sewer hose segments as the utilities are at the back of each site which can make it difficult to connect everything. We were in a section with other Vanleigh owners that had the sewer connection up hill from the RV which made for some challenges dumping the tanks.

We decided against attending this one as we have some other commitments.

Stuart

We had purchased tickets to the 50th and the last Vanleigh rally at Talona but ended up having to cancel both just prior. I see several faces in that pic I recognize but where are you hiding at?

Too bad you guys werenโ€™t able to attend either of those. Who knew theyโ€™d be the last official Vanleigh rallies. I think the Talona Ridge rally was better so at least they went out on a high.

My wife and I are in the middle of the pic (Iโ€™m standing behind her with the dark glasses and hat). Our Beacon is the smokey teal on the left. Ashlee Cook is on the far right. She was always helpful in setting up the rallies. Iโ€™m sure you contacted her as I did when they shut down down the old Vanleigh site in early 2023.

To do over I would have kept the reservations for both of those rallies. I have been fortunate enough to meet several folks that I had planned on meeting at those rallies on the road, at Tish or Redbay.

We did know Ashlee and communicated with her a fair amount. She was with us for several days of our build as we observed the construction and after our purchase we went back to the plant for 6 tours. I took loose handheld video of Leighs portion of the rally in Hot Springs in 2021 and may post that here. I was hoping that somebody would have recorded the Talona Ridge but was told it was audio recorded but not video.

Thanks Stuart

How structured are these rallyโ€™s? Does Tiffin keep you going during the whole time you are there? Looking at some of the information provided by Sweetwater Complex, there is a lot to be seen and done in the area. It is a long drive to just attend the rally, but I do want to get out west.

I am a little torn about the trip as for being gone for almost 3 weeks in the spring. June is normally the time I use to get things cleaned up and kick started going into summer which is normally to short. Wonder how long it will be for Tiffin to return to Sweetwater as they were there in 22?

KInd of thinking the rally in South Carolina might have been a better choice as we are planning being in Florida from the end of March, if we can get out of the driveway (snow), till early May. Not a real lone drive up to S.C. and back.

We never really heard about the Vanleigh rallyโ€™s until the very end. Sounds like they were the way to go. We didnโ€™t take delivery of your trailer from the dealer until July of 22. As we are new to the RV way of life, we werenโ€™t really ready to go anywhere as I was working on doing the trailer the way I wanted it before we hit the road. That to me took till March of last year when we finally hit the road.

After Vanleigh closed up and the web site taken down, I would go to the Tiffin site looking for information on Vanleigh. During that time I kind got the impression that were kind of the red headed step children and were overlooked by the Allegro Club. It wasnโ€™t till last summer that I heard, from this site, that we were being included in the Allegro Club and they had some merchandise available. I always found it surprising that Vanleigh never had any kind of merchandise available to their owners as other manufacturers did.

Stuart, do you remember which of the 3 campgrounds you stayed in while you when attended the 50th at Sweetwater. It would give me a bearing as to where we would be camped Did they park the rig right next to one another or did they leave a open sites between?

Bob

Hey Bob,

I wouldnโ€™t consider them too structured. They do have a lot of seminars available to attend and theyโ€™re wide open, you can come and go as you please. Some were more relevant for motorhome owners and others were applicable to RVing in general. We attended a few of the seminars , but also took some time to explore the area.

One close by excursion is the Pilot Butte wild horse scenic loop, which takes maybe an hour or two to drive and you have a chance of seeing the wild horses in the area and get some nice views of the surrounding area from the top of the butte. (You can even get a good view of the sweet water events complex)

We live fairly close (outside of Denver, CO) so it was a short drive to get there. If you have a longer journey, you could extend your stay as there are a lot of sites to see relatively close by, such as Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Flaming Gorge and Dinosaur National Monument.

We got lucky and were able to attend 3 or 4 of the Vanleigh rallies and found them to be better. Probably because all the attendees had more in common. Not that the Tiffin rally was bad, just not the same sort of connection I felt.

On a related note, Vanleigh did have a merchandise store back in the day. You could get shirts and hats along with some other items. They also made those available at the rallies.

For the Tiffin rally in 2022 they used the Pilot Butte & White Mountain campgrounds at the complex. Both were pretty much fully occupied. Iโ€™v included a screenshot of the campgrounds and indicated where we saw the different units assigned. Iโ€™ve also included the tentative schedule they had for that rally so you get an idea of how the days were laid out.

Hope this helps and if you attend, hope youโ€™ll have a good experience!

Stuart
