We put Cooper 16.5” wheels and tires on over the winter had have done the first 500 miles or so with them. With pressures set @ 85 trailer pulls much better. Bumps in the road are not felt as abruptly as before.
When we pulled into our overnight stop couple of days ago, opened up the unit after leveling to put out slides and the Spyder controller was not working properly. We have a G12 and the first board was not being picked up at all. Good news was after several turn batteries off, unplug shore power it started back up and we were able to get slides out. Now that I could get to the control boards (in pantry below circuit panel) found power and ground on one board were slightly loose, tightened them up and so far everything seems fine.
Bad news without access to the boards to troubleshoot etc you are pretty much stuck in never never land. You would be forced to manually open/close slides etc. in talking with spyder control they indicated that a ‘loose’ power connection could have caused intermittent issues. Coincidentally our factory black tank monitor stopped working a few months ago, after tightening it started working again. Thankfully we don’t depend on the factory tank monitor we installed a SeeLevel system. I would suggest you inspect your power connections to the boards and make sure they are properly tightened.
Good advice to check that wiring on those Spyder units - especially with their newer locations.
Vanleigh had a few models where the G6 was difficult to get to with the slides in but in 2021 for 22 models they made a change with many units where they located the controls. On my 34RLB they had it located under the bar as you walk in. With all slides in it was easy to get to the unit and access the override buttons. For the 22 models they changed the location to what was the pantry which gets blocked by the galley slide. This happened on many units. I was onsite for a tour and walked through the 2022 prototype and pointed out the problem. I was told they were going to change it but unfortunately it didn’t make the cut.
They continued this practice with the 23 models when they changed from G6 to G12. The G6 has buttons to bring in the slides if the panel goes out and without those buttons on the G12s I guess they assumed access was no longer needed. The technical team that answered the support calls recognized a change was needed as they informed me the difficulty they had walking folks through those types of issues.
