When I drive through a right curve at recommended speed..the driver side main slide comes out at the top about 12 inches. What should I do?
Have you checked the hydraulic reservoir in the front compartment? Have you noticed any of the hydraulic jacks creeping down possibly?
We had similar issues on our 39FBB where both slide would sometimes lean out on turns one of the front leveling jacks would drop down. I had temporarily used some motorcycle fork fluid to top off the reservoir as a lot of folks suggest that can help. It may have helped a little bit, but I eventually had to have the from landing jack replaced and that stopped both of the issues with the hydraulic system.
12 inches is a lot and Stuarts suggestion of checking for any jack leaks is spot on.
With that said on our 34RLB we noticed the top of the kitchen slide would tip out a few inches on a tight corner at highway speeds. I first noticed this in the side mirror as I was making my way up a pass. We had several cameras in our in rig and could review and verify that movement.
Tiffin and Tish told us the amount of movement we saw was normal with the size of the slide and since that time ran into several other 34RLB / 320 owners that had similar experience. Some used slide locks and others like myself did not.
12 inches seems a bit extreme and probably indicates a larger problem.
Hello all,
We had some issues with our hydraulic jacks. We were seeing the front the rig slowly lower less than an inch over several days. After way too much trouble shooting determined on of the jacks was leaking by internally. Had both rebuilt for $150 each problem solved. Additionally flushed the hydraulic system prior to the rebuild of the jacks, cleaned out reservoir, new oil mostly fork per Lippert.
I believe the issue with most of the hydraulic systems in RVs is when they are installed the systems are NOT flushed out and crud in the systems from installation eventually causes seal failure in the jacks, my two cents.
This may be the problem with the slide tipping, nore troubleshooting required. We have toppers on all our slide outs this may be why we aren’t seeing the tipping of the slide. This is our fourth fifth wheel and I consider toppers a must for any slide on any rig.
Safe travels to All.
