Ongoing with the schwintek on the bedroom and office water running along to the floor when raining i came across this post and the original article was to put some foam plugs in the rails. I tried that but when the slide goes in it pushes the foam to the other end of the rail. I did also read grand design had a workaround to apply silicone but Im unable to find the post . Anyone else had issues ?
I have never had any leak issues around my schwintek on my Beacon but I did have the foam piece in place at the very end of the rail. Have you tried to place the foam piece in the rail from the inside of the rig when the slide is retracted? If the foam is on the outside the gear will roll it along the rail as it retracts.
I did have a Grand Design prior and although I did not have any leaks at my Schwintek with it I did have the classic Grand Design big hunk of sealant at the end of the rail. If you can get the foam piece in your rail I would go for the sealant just to keep the water from running along the top of the channel in the rail into the rig (of course applying it to the rail from the inside when the slide is retracted.
I read through link you provided and recall GD having a large issue with the water getting in the slot behind the rail and rotting out the floors. Glad that never happened on my Momentum. Let us know what you chase down.
I went for the blob method used on the grand design as one side for each slide does get wet even when closed. I also added a fresh bead of silicone along the seal in red I’ll report of it helps
