I was wondering if anyone has replaced the propane hoses that go from the propane tank to the regulator?
I was doing some spring maintenance and found one of the hoses was cracked in a few places. I ordered some braided steel replacements that come with a 1/4" male inverted flare end where it connects to the regulator. After I removed the old cracked rubber hose and compared the two ends the old one has a different connection about 3/8".
If anyone has already done this were you able to locate an adapter to connect the 1/4" male hose to the 3/8" female regulator?
I’ve been coming up empty finding that combo on adapters. Plenty of 3/8" to 3/8" and 1/4" to 1/4" but nothing 1/4" to 3/8".
This is from Grainger.com and may work. You could look at McMaster/Carr (not sure of the web address) as well to see what they have. An industrial supply house is probably the best source for an oddball fitting.
High Pressure Instrumentation Pipe Fittings
High-pressure instrumentation fittings connect with high-pressure (1000-3000 psi) pipe. Fittings are precision machined for leak-free connections between fittings, instrumentation, and pipe. Threaded connections use PTFE tape to secure seal.

I agree with Steamboat, look at Grainger or I have had really good luck with our local Ace Hardware, they carry an amazing line of fitings, good luck in your search
Thanks guys for the info. I thought I found a good adapter it was a 3/8" to 1/4", but didn’t work out. Maybe I measure the opening wrong on the regulator or maybe the adapter had the wrong thread pattern.
I think I tracked dow the adapter size/style I need. Looks like it’s a 1/4" Male NPT x 1/4" Female Inverted Flare to connect those hose with the 1/4" Male inverted flare and the regulator.
Once it arrives I’ll update if it worked in case anyone else runs into this.
Just updating on the correct adapter I found for replacing the split/cracked rubber hoses for connection to the regulator. I found an adapter on Amazon that was the 1/4" male NPT x 1/4" female inverted flare. I was able to connect the steel braided hoses up to the regulator properly now.
