Old conversation I started researching an upgrade around a year ago and would like everyone’s input on what you all have install for a better ride for the vanleigh. I have a 350 dually with a B&W so looking to replace the below. Input and experience appreciated
On our previous 5th wheel it came with the MORryde rubber pin box and it was quite good paired with our F350 at the time and B&W hitch.
Our Beacon came with the Lippert Rota-Flex pin box. I’m not really a fan of it as it doesn’t perform as well as the MORryde did. I was planning on replacing it with the MORryde model at the final Vanleigh rally at Talona Ridge, but they ran out of them.
Next opportunity I get I’m going with that MORryde RBP. Still using the B&W hitch on our F450 and it’s a great product!
Love that brush guard on your truck. We often drive through areas that have a lot of deer and elk as we head toward boondocking spots in Idaho. Of course my intention is to never hit one brush guard or not I need to do something to protect the front of my truck in the event. Outside of that it just looks fantastic.
I had a Flex Air pinbox (air bag and shock) on my last fifth wheel that I firmly believe took away some of the impact to our unit and provided a better ride. We compared rear dash cam video and an onboard seismograph without the pinbox and with and was a substantial different driving the same path.
I currently am running the standard Roto Flex and my B&W. If I were to make any change with that configuration I would change to a Trailer Saver BD5 hitch and leave the current pinbox as is. I have been wanting to make that jump for awhile. I am full time so I don’t use the back of my bed for anything but towing and that hitch is heavy - might be a consideration for some.

I’ve been reading about the 1. Moryde. And the flex air which I was a little concerned if it would loose the air in the air bags.
Any chance you can post the model you would recommend as from a quick google search one is 800& and the other with the airbags I think curt make it now is nearly double.
My thoughts are to prevent any frame flex in the future. Btw love the dually happy I made this decision.

From what I remember this was the correct one Curt Rota-Flex 1621 SHD Pin Box - 21K
I went the other direction, installed a Reese Goosebox (20K) and very happy. Frees up:the bed when not in use and tows well. Because of design has both shock absorbers and air bag. And yes it’s Lippert approved,

Thanks all any idea of the weight could 2 people toss in the bed of a truck, any other considerations before purchasing other than weight it is good upto and pin out pattern for the bolts
Goosebox is what we have and we love it!
