Redo of plumbing nightmare for Beacon

Well my leak detector woke my wife up about 3:30 AM and she said she let me sleep until 7:30 AM. I guess there’s a Blessing in there somewhere for losing my hearing! So anyway I have had it up to the top of my bald head with the continuous leaking manifolds and plastic t’s and that crap white hose ring clamps and anything related to that plumbing nightmare in the belly of the beast. I am sick of it.

So I ordered another manifold 100ft of red & Blue 1/2” pex 100 1/2” pex clamps 15 each brass 1/2” t’s, 90 elbows and unions, various other fittings. All together about $500 dollars worth of supplies. I hope that I can make a better plumbing repair of the manifold and assorted plumbing attachments. I’m not sure if I will be able to replace all the white hose but I will reduce it down quite a bit and I hope the manifold will be better than that crap VanLeigh put in there.
Thanks for letting me rant!

If anyone has a plumbing diagram for 2022 Beacon 41LKB could you send it this way?

It’s going to be a while getting started and finishing with ordering & working got to get everything ready for my nightmare! 74 years old and my back keeps reminding me that it’s still back there and it’s getting worse all the time!!

Ralph, I posted a diagram on the VanLeigh RV Owners Facebook page in the file section.

Let me know if you can’t get to it and I will try and find it on my iPad and post it here or send to you.

mine is a ‘23 41LKB, but I am pretty sure no difference exist.

Regards,

Eric

Thanks ERamsey, if you don’t mind could you send it to me I don’t do Facebook.

When i did mine, I did 1 line at a time and didn’t remove anything until it was replaced. I didn’t want to mess up any of the backflow stoppers. I didn’t replace the vinyl hose to and from the fresh water tank, the ice maker line or the black tank flush line. I used a combination of compression fittings on the pex pipe because I could not get the large ring compressor in there. I did mine a few years ago and have had no leaks since.

Thanks for the info and the photos. I notice that you didn’t replace the manifolds, that is one of the reasons for me wanting to redo the whole mess in mine. The first week I had mine the hot water inlet to manifold blew out. I got it back in there but every time one of my leak detectors starts chirping I wonder if it has done it again?? I am so tired of patching a temporary fix. My shower drain plastic nut was cracked and VanLeigh stuffed a tube of silicone around it. That was the very first leak I had and I have not trusted anything else in this piece of junk since! It took two days for me and a mobile repair man to dig it all out and he was able to fix while I was working a seasonal job. We had the 5” hole for the heat duct to work with.
Anyway thanks for the information and I asked Eric Ramsey to email me the plumbing diagram. Thanks for all the help!! I will try to get a photo or video of the finished product. If I have the opportunity.

Hey Ralph, I’m interested in seeing what you end up doing with the plumbing mess. I’ve been thinking about it too. I had to look at the mess when I was replacing the wet bay manifold. I have two copper manifolds one right behind the wet bay and the other up front by the water heater.

Think I have another leak (small) and believe it ‘s the washing machine again, since it seems to have stopped after shutting off the water to it.

Good luck in your project and please share some pics if you can.

Hey Stuart. I will try to setup photos and videos of the redo but it is going to be tricky. I want to do one line at a time. Which is the tricky part I will have to remove the two copper manifolds and mount my Rec Pro manifold on a secure panel and I hope secure the pex to the panel also and organize it and do a back breaking job trying to make sure everything works properly and correctly. We will be living in my truck camper and working as gate attendants at a park we have been full timers for the last two years. So I have most of the stuff ordered and will need some more as I go along. I will do the best I can for you guys to video &,keep a good attitude about what it will be like to go a few years without a leak! It’s got to great to go that long without a leak. It will be a few weeks getting it all done.
Thank one & all for your sharing help and hope for these VanLeigh nightmares!
Ralph
