Propane usage question

Just curious - for those of you who are full timers, how much propane do you use weekly?

We’ve been down in AZ for the winter and there’ve been a been a few cooler nights over the past few months. I think on average we’ve gone through a 40lb propane tank about once every 10 days.

So that’s about 9 gallons and only using it for the furnace and the stove. We kept the water heater on electric.

That’s a hard question to answer. I’ve gotten by with one 7 gallon tank a week while stationary, but it really depends on so many factors. Gas or electric heat. Gas or electric water heater. Gas generator use. Outdoor temperature. Using the gas range or convection oven. Etc. One thing I can say for sure is the gas furnace and gas water heater use a lot of propane if you use them a lot.

Biggest factor is temperature. If not using the propane heat 7 gallon tank can last a long time. Most of the time I have electric so water heater is on that. We cook with it a lot but that really doesn’t burn that much quickly. If it gets cold and using heat a lot can burn through a tank in 3-4 days. YMMV

We usually are south when it is cold and can make our tanks last several weeks with the stove, water heater and maybe the furnace here and there. Last winter we were in Idaho and my wife likes it warm so we were going through a 30# (7 gallon) tank every 4-5 days.
