Hi all, I’m looking to see if anyone on here has had any issues with the One Control touch panel (OCTP) used to access the detailed leveling system information. This is the panel inside the front pass through storage compartment. Luckily the outside touchpad still allows for operation of the leveling system. In the past that touch panel would sometime not turn on, but cutting the 12V power for a short duration would usually fix the issue.
Today when I was checking some other things out I tried to check the leveling status from that panel and it refused to turn on. Even after cycling the 12V power the panel was still apparently dead.
Has anyone run into a similar issue or knows of some troubleshooting steps to go through? Lippert is closed on the weekends, but I was hoping to see if there was an easy fix.
I have only had a few times that I had issues with that and usually cutting the 12v by pulling the fuse for a few solved it for me. There was one time when I could see that it was getting power but didnt seem to want to go into the interface and doing the paperclip reset corrected that. Hopefully you chase it down.
These panels are not very sturdy and can be damaged by any sort of exposure to water. The previous owner had a small drip from the drain pipe joint that ran over the top of the panel and a small amount of water apparently penetrated the top corner of the panel. I fixed the leak but, the damage was done.
My panel comes on and is mostly functional except the touchscreen in the upper right corner doesn’t sense touch anymore. Unfortunately, this is the part of the panel that has the settings icon that, among other things, enables the user to reset the zero point. I contacted Lippert and went through their whole troubleshooting/reset process without success. The only thing the tech could offer was a replacement panel for $500 (stupid expensive for a mass-produced simple low-res touchscreen panel). I called several different RV salvage yards looking for a used replacement panel without success.
I’ll replace the panel when we return to Phoenix for the winter and will make a water-resistant cover for it. Disappointed to find another RV part that is wildly overpriced and not designed to be fit for its intended purpose and exposure to the environmental factors in its typical mounting location.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I find it annoying these cheaply made products don’t last long and cost way too much to replace.
I did do some preliminary tests and found the panel is getting voltage and the CAN Bus terminators have the correct resistance. I’ve emailed Lippert, but I’m guessing I’ll get the same result like @Wandering_Nomads and have to shell out $500 to replace it. For a low end Android based tablet that you buy in a dollar store for about $25.
Not much choice if I want to be able to access the leveling system beyond the outside touch panel.
New to the group we bought a 2020 34RLB a few weeks ago and have been working on toppers, insulated window replacements etc.
Anyway wondering if anyone has some insight on the Leveling panel located outside next to the generator door panel. Can’t seem to get it to turn on, press both up&down buttons at the same time without result. Unfamiliar with newer LCI system had same system on our 2012 Redwood no issues for 8 years. Hoping it’s just an operator error issue, Hlepo if you can.
Sounds like that exterior panel might not be working. You should also have an interior screen located in the front pass through compartment that performs the same functions (and more) that would allow you to manipulate the jacks. It also allow you to view any errors in the system.
The opposite of my issue where the exterior control pad works but the interior screen is dead.
You may want to check power to make sure you’ve got sufficient battery power to operate the system. Check the connections of the exterior panel, should be able to see the connector in the LP compartment directly behind the panel. As well as the main controller located in the front generator compartment. It’s located near the top of the door and you’ll need to look up on the ceiling to see it.
I contacted Lippert support and they were nice to work with but were unable to offer a solution other than purchase a replacement control panel for $500 (same as Wandering Nomads mentioned).
Not a great solution cost wise, but I ordered the replacement and just installed it. At least it only took about 5 minutes to remove the old broken one and plug in the new one. Everything is working again as it used to.
