Hot water circulating pump

Hi Vanleigh Owners
We are camping a lot this summer at Corp. of Engineers Parks, which have water and electric hook ups only, and wondering if any one has added a water circulating pump to there unit, as on my 39FBB it takes a lot of running water to finally get the hot water to the shower, not wanting to add a lot of unusable water to the holding tank, was looking at putting a circulating system in the front bathroom lavatory faucets tieing the hot and cold together with the pump to get the hot water circulating. also has to be able to turn on and off when not needed. Anybody done it and had good results, or is it just a waste of time
Thanks for any suggestions

That an interesting idea. I haven’t heard of too many of these in RVs, but might make sense. The waste tanks always seem to end up being the constraint when boon docking or at a location without a sewer connection on the site.

Have you found a kit you’re planning on using for this yet? I saw this one that looked pretty straightforward for about $300.

We primarily boondock putting around 240 days of no hookups for the last year. I had thought about adding one initially but we didnt have real issues getting the warn water to the shower so was not a priority. The shower in my model is close to the water distribution and maybe that helps. Prior to shower I would switch the Truma from ECO to COMFORT so between the distance and settings maybe that helped in our situation. We did take some time to get warm water to the kitchen sink however.

With that said I still get that initial shock of chilled water when trying to conserve but wasnt long lasting - or enough to require change. I had a friend with a 41LKB put the Nevercold by Eastman at his sink and shower and swore by it. I have also seen others reference the unit that Stuart linked with success.

I have noticed that it takes about 20 sec at either location for hot water to make it. I am staying in a COE park as a Host/Gate Attendant with full hookups. I automatically start to counting when I get in the shower. I had shortened the hose WH to distribution manifold but it only made a second or so difference. So with full hookup I just live with it.

really appreciate all the comeback on this topic, looked at the one Stuart posted but really do not need to spend that amount, looking at one on good old Amazon that runs on 110v with plug that i could unplug when not needed, or i just keep doing what we have been doing which is to fill a separate container, and then use to water the plants,
Many Thanks

Would this water circulating pump use the LP gas to keep the water hot thus draining that resource? I love this in my house although RV, I would question that. Just my two cents comment.

It does use the propane but only to point that the water in the pipes is the same as the heater then would cut off, plus I was looking at one that i could turn off when not needed
