I am sorry to hear this but the good thing it is fixable. What year of unit?
Affinity RV in Goshen Indiana are the all stars at the flex repair. When I was there in Feb of 23 they had done over 200 units without failure and them being booked solid I am sure that number has rose significantly since.
Danny (Tish) altered his repair to be similar to Affinity’s repair in March of this year however he took an extra step and added a plate that goes across the whole bottom. Pictures are above in this post.
Danny shared his repair with Tiffin in April of this year and they adapted to doing the same process.
Affinity for a single side on a painted unit will cost around $8k. Many folks have been having a hard time getting Tiffin to pay for Affinity’s repair. Danny has had some success getting authorization of the repair for warranty at his shop. Tiffin has been good about performing the repairs for folks free as long as they come to Redbay (first , second or even third owners).
Your Beacon being at Tish (I firmly believe that Danny does a much more thorough job than Tiffin) I would have it done there. If forced to move the 22 miles down to Redbay for the repair and get it free since their repair is a copy of Danny’s it is not a bad option.
I have spoke with over 100 individuals that have experienced Frame Flex and out of those have only heard of one time where an Insurance company covered the work. One other owner ended up with their insurance company totaling their unit.
Ryan, Thanks for the info. We are at the early stage of this now. Possible flex or failed welds. We have very little movement of the trim on one side only so far. I called Tiffin and it took a while but we are now in the QUE to bring it in to see what the problem is. We have a 2022 Beacon 39FBB so no slides over the front frame step. We are second owners and haven’t discussed if its covered yet but I’m hopefull.
Chuck - keep us updated on how it gets resolved. I am pretty certain that if you have structural issues on a 22 and going to Redbay they will take care of it for you. Tiffin has been good about addressing the problem several owners in or years outside of the warranty coverage when seen at Redbay.
As I think I mentioned previously on this thread the 22 model years would have wood stuffed channels which helps hold the lags for the wall and the screws for the trim on the sweep. I have seen 2021 FBBs with the typical flex / weld issue but those earlier years had a curbside slide. I will be interested in seeing how yours turns out. Hoping for a simple solution.
Just wanted to give my thumbs-up to Tishomingo… we just got home from there and they did the frame flex repair on our 2022 41FLB and did a great job. In and out in 10 days… and that included some fiberglass repair and repainting. When they went to remove the front cap and windshield, lots of glue during construction meant some heavy duty persuasion was needed to get it off.
