I tried to post this in an existing category, but didn’t have any luck so sorry if this is a repeat category. I have an ambition 399 with three air conditioners. The rear, garage, unit is not engaging the compressor. Service tech swapped it for another Coleman mock 1500 and exact same issue – fan comes on and off with the control panel no issues, but the compressor is not engaging or blowing cold air. They are thinking that there might be a problem with the control module for the rig, although they said that they had power coming out of the module towards that third unit, or a broken wire somewhere but no idea what family did when they ran wires. Anybody got any ideas or help? Thanks in advance.
Hey Dave - When you say they are thinking the control module - are they thinking the Spyder system control or the control box at the AC?
There is a control box mounted in the ac the 120v romex goes into it. The new ac units normally do not come with the lower control box. It has relays and a circuit board etc. If they reused the original control box with a new AC it could be you need a new control box. It wouldn’t be hard to determine if its getting the run signal from the spyder T-Stat system with a multimeter. The spyder system just sends the 12v to the control box to call for cool. The compressor is controlled by the controls in the lower box that is mounted in the ac unit.

Hey Ryan - they said they tested the output from the ‘ECM’ which is apparently near the fridge so I am thinking that is the receiver for the control panel. Neither the new AC or my existing one kicked on a compressor when called for so my guess is the Spyder. I have toggled through the screens and it shows no errors or issues.
Thanks for that info!! I will forward to the dealer who tried installing the new unit.
UPDATE - unit is now working. Turned out to be a broken wire in the wall or underbelly. The technician traced with a sounder. Fortunately, the unit was prepped with wiring for a heat pump in the garage so there was an extra wire available and they used that to connect to the compressor so now all is good. Truly surprised at how much difference a third air conditioner makes for the overall rig.
Thanks for the update and glad they got it working. I started out with 2 AC units on my Beacon and added the third later and you are right big difference.
That’s great news. I want to add the 3rd AC on our 2022 320 GK in the near future.
I’m very glad to have a third AC unit already in my 41LKB. It definitely needs the three units in the summer heat!!!
